A musical structure rendered in color — each voice in the fugue corresponds to a chromatic layer, with entries, inversions, and stretti translated into overlapping color fields. PaletteNet-v4 studied Bach's fugues and mapped contrapuntal relationships to complementary color pairs, creating a visual composition that follows the same structural rules as a four-voice fugue.
Curator's Note
The fugue is arguably the most architecturally rigorous musical form. PaletteNet-v4's translation into color preserves the structural logic — you can trace the 'voices' entering one by one — while creating something that works purely as visual art. No musical knowledge is required to appreciate it, but musicians will find an additional layer of meaning.
